Heron Down Case Study

Heron Down Farm, Hampshire County

CPL represented a large agricultural landowner that was looking to create a new and distinctive family home in Hampshire County within the North Wessex Downs AONB.  When the landowner purchased the site, there were several redundant dairy buildings that were removed in favour of the proposed new house. The site was a complicated location as the proposal occurred entirely within the AONB. To meet with Local Plan policies and the North Wessex AONB management plan the development was required to demonstrate conservation of the existing countryside aspects and enhancement of the natural characteristics for the better.

CPL worked with a local agricultural land use specialist to formulate a rotational crop plan to be implemented for 15 years, thus balancing the development within the agricultural and ecological landscape. It also made for a sustainable farming technique that has benefited the landowner in the long term.  This was another quality job where CPL demonstrated our ability to create comprehensive and innovative development proposals, that serve both the client, their business, and the natural environment.
